Our Mission

Founded in 2018, Skilled Hands Organisation CIC inspires and supports Unemployed women, Women with caring responsibilities and Women on low income living in Nottingham, through the use of Artisan Craft Workshops. We are driven by the firm belief of the therapeutic powers of craft and we work hard to use craft to ease the burdens in the lives of the women we work with.

Our selected choice of craft (Millinery, Jewellery Making, Bag Making, Soap Making and Dressmaking) is used to reduce loneliness, depression and isolation as well as encourage community cohesion and build confidence amongst women. We encourage our women to start up small businesses with the acquired skills as well as offer them the opportunity to volunteer in the organisation.

Our sessions are structured to unearth hidden or dead talents, build confidence and bring out the best in women.
